Siberian Husky
Siberian Husky breed was basically developed in Siberia as clear from its name. But some people think that the place of their origination is United States. They are considered as quite friendly, gentle but highly aggressive dogs by nature. Today, Siberian Husky is used as both a companion dog and competitive sleigh dog as well. They are very active dog and stay alert about their surrounding environment. They love to vocalize their feelings so usually they bark a lot that is troublesome for their owners due to their over barking habit because in some areas, noise is not allowed. In such areas, you may control their over barking habit by using bark collar.
Siberian Husky is also called Arctic Husky. Siberian Husky is basically used to pull small loads and as sled racing dog. They are well tempered so they like to stay around people. This independent dog is not as much loyal to his owner as other dog breeds are. They are very clever and sharp to escape from yard or kennel. Siberian Husky belongs to working breed group of dogs.
- Height: Siberian Husky male has a height from 21 – 23 inches while Siberian Husky female can be tall up to 22 inches.
- Weight: Siberian Husky male can gain approximately 45 – 60 lb while Siberian Husky female can gain from 35 – 50 lb weight.
- Colour: Siberian Husky breed has developed several coat colours from white to black with variety of marking on chest, face and legs.
- Temperament: Siberian Husky is an alert, energetic, reserved, gentle, friendly and out going dog.
These dogs are very hard to train. For their training, you must have patience because they don’t obey your instructions and follow them. They obey you when they think it is important. For their proper training, you may have to get the assistance of professional trainer. So they are not fine with beginner. To keep them as pets, you need some extra skills of dog’s domestication. Siberian Husky has head of medium size. They have almond shape eyes in blue and brown shades. Usually, it depends on the coat colour of dog. They have closed set ears in rectangular shape. They have small nose and can have whether black, flesh and liver colour depending on the coat colour. Siberian Husky have small but strong legs appearing straight. They have strong but small feet. They have double coats which eliminate effects of climate from their bodies and ensure their protection either in cold or heat.
Most common health problems this breed has to suffer are dysplasia and eye infections. Even when they are in yard they have to be watched closely to prevent any abnormality.
