Rottweiler

Rottwieler is an active and sharp dog breed. He is devoted, energetic and every time ready to do some work. He is loyal to his owner and provides protection as well. These dogs love to play with kids and be patted and loved by them. When they are puppies, then they are energetic and want independence. In young age, they follow their own commands. Owner has to be patient while Rottwieler is growing up. They should be trained at young age. Rottwielers have their own unique looks. They look like aggressive dogs.

Rottwieler actually belongs to working breed group. As they are always ready to perform their duties and love to do some work.
Rottwieler breed was developed in Germany basically as working dog. But Rottwieler is being used as companion, service and working dog now a day.

  • Height: Normally Rottwieler male is 24 – 27 inches tall while Rottwieler female is generally 22 – 25 inches tall. They are basically large breed of dog and are impressive looking.
  • Weight: Rottwieler male usually has weight from 95 – 130 lb while female has from 85 – 115 lb weight. But Rottwieler does not look much bulky because they have muscular body shape.
  • Temperament: Rottwielers are courageous, intelligent, protective and self assured dogs by nature and they are devoted and calm by temperament.
  • Colour: Rottwielers have distinctive hues in black and rust colour with mahogany markings.

Rottwielers have distinct head with sharp skin tone. They have dark almond shape eyes set apart away from each other. They have high set but small ears in triangular shape. They have tight skin at lips covering the strong jaw lines. They have sturdy muscular body. They have wide chest, strong neck and flat at back. They have docked tail. They have straight strong legs having with compact feet. Their coat is very shiny and they have various colour hues in black and rust making marks at face, chest and legs.

Rottwielers tend to suffer from general health problems like dysplasia and entropion.
Rottwielers need almost two hours for exercise on daily basis but they do well in apartments too. They prefer to stay around their family when they are at home instead of living at yard. They are intelligent so they are very easy to train but you must start their training ay a young age due to their protective nature. They are calm and cool by nature but when ever you go outside at public places with them, then you must keep them in leash because sometimes they would be rash and aggressive with other dogs and animals.
